Loading Paper Into Paper Feeder Unit PF-812
Overview
Load paper into the Paper Feeder Unit PF-812.
Change the paper settings for the tray being used when loading paper of different specifications.
NOTICE
- Paper over 351 g/m2 can only be loaded into the Lower tray (Tray 3) of the 1st paper feeder unit.

Procedure

Pull out the tray into which the paper is loaded.
Proceed to Step 2 when loading the paper of different sizes.
Proceed to Step 5 when loading paper of the same size.
NOTICE
- The tray cannot be pulled out if the power supply of the machine is not first turned on. Turn the Sub power switch on. For details, refer to Switch on Power Supply of the System..
- Do not pull out multiple trays at once. Doing so may cause the machine to topple over.

Spread the Side guides (left) and the Rear guide plate wide.
Rotate the Side guide lock knobs (2 locations) of Side guides (left) counterclockwise and loosen them.
While pressing the Side guide lock release lever of Side guides (left) and the Rear edge guide lock release lever of Rear guide plate, spread the guide wide.
NOTICE
- When moving the Side guides (left), hold the Side guide lock release lever in the front side and the handle in the rear side. If you attempt to move the Side guides (left) just in the front side, the Side guides (left) may cause a misalignment.

Align the Side guides (left) with the loaded paper.

Load approximately 100 sheets of paper with the print side facing up. While pressing the Side guide lock release lever of the Side guides (left) in the front side, align both the Side guides (left) with the paper, and determine the position to suit the size indicators on the top side of the guide supporting plate.

Rotate the Side guide lock knobs (2 locations) of Side guides (left) clockwise and lock them.

Load the paper with the print side facing up.
Load the paper so that it is aligned with the left side of the tray.
NOTICE
- Be careful not to exceed the stack limit lines marked on the Side guides (left) of the tray when loading the paper.
- When loading paper over 401 g/m2 / 107 lb Bond, lock the Paper holding plate fixing lever in the back side only.

Place the Rear guide plate flush against the paper.
Hold down Rear edge guide lock release lever of Rear guide plate and place against the paper.
NOTICE
- Make sure that Rear guide plate is placed firmly against the paper. If there is a gap between the Rear guide plate and the paper, the machine will not be able to detect the correct paper size, which may lead to a failure in the paper feeding device.

Firmly push the tray all the way in.
The remaining paper amount indicator changes from "

".
NOTICE
- Do not apply excessive force when pushing the tray back in. There may be an unexpected impact on the machine because of the weight of the tray or paper causing the malfunction.
