[PFU Air Assist Adjustment]
Overview
When Paper Feeder Unit PF-712, Paper Feeder Unit PF-713, or Paper Feeder Unit PF-812 is mounted, change the air blow conditions, and blow air to the paper loaded in the paper tray.
This function separates the loaded paper sheets using air blown from the air outlet of Paper Feeder Unit PF-712, Paper Feeder Unit PF-713, or Paper Feeder Unit PF-812, enabling smooth paper feeding.
Depending on the paper type, smooth feeding may be difficult, and paper jams may occur. In this case, manually change the air blow conditions. You can manually adjust the setting while checking the air volume in the paper tray by shining a light from the Air nozzle confirmation window of the paper tray.
NOTICE
- [PFU Air Assist Adjustment] is not displayed by default. To use this setting, please contact your service representative.
- Tray 1, Tray 4, and Tray 7 cannot be checked from the Air nozzle confirmation window. Manually adjust the other paper trays, and then set the value.

Procedure ([Auto] Adjustment)

Select the paper tray to adjust.

Press [Auto].

Press [Start].
Air blowing starts.

Press [Stop].
Air blowing stops.
5
Press [Print Mode].
The paper tray to be adjusted is automatically selected.

Press Start on the Control panel.
Confirm the paper feeding status from the Air nozzle confirmation window.

Press [Exit PrintMode].

Repeat step 3 to step 7 until the desired result is obtained.
Procedure ([Manual] Adjustment)

Select the paper tray to adjust.

Press [Manual].

Press [Start].
Air blowing starts.

Adjust the air volume of the Edge air nozzle in [Lead Edge Air Level Setting].
Make adjustment while confirming the amount of paper float from the Air nozzle confirmation window.
Pressing [Weak] weakens the air volume of the lead edge, and improves the thin paper feeding performance depending on conditions. Pressing [Strong] strengthens the air volume of the lead edge, and improves the thick paper feeding performance depending on conditions.

Adjust the air volume of the Side air nozzle in [Side Air Level Setting].
Make adjustment while confirming the amount of paper float from the Air nozzle confirmation window.
Pressing [Weak] weakens the air volume on the side, and improves the thin paper feeding performance depending on conditions. Pressing [Strong] strengthens the air volume on the side, and improves the thick paper feeding performance depending on conditions. To turn off the air volume on the side, select [OFF].

Press [Stop].
Air blowing stops.

Press [Print Mode].
The tray to be adjusted is automatically selected.

Press Start on the Control panel.
Confirm the paper feeding status from the Air nozzle confirmation window.

Press [Exit PrintMode].

Repeat step 3 to step 9 until the desired result is obtained.
