Machine Authentication
Overview
Use the system authentication function (machine authentication) to restrict which users can use the system. User authentication information can be registered and managed on the system.
Introducing user authentication allows not only the ability to restrict which users can use the system, but also allows advanced operations such as limiting which functions can be used by which users and managing the operating conditions of the system by taking into consideration security and cost.
Advantages
- Users can be easily registered to the system, even without a server in place.
Disadvantages
- Entering registration information for large numbers of users can be time consuming. If using multiple systems, you have to register users to each system individually. For details, refer to External Server Authentication.
- Each user can be managed on a per-department basis by combining machine authentication and department administration. When combining these, set whether or not to link department information to users according to the environment in which the system is being used. Combining them allows you to analyze the system's operating status for each user and/or section/department. For details, refer to [User Auth./Account Track] - [Account Track Settings].
Here the settings and registrations are performed using Web Connection. You can also perform these operations on the control panel.

Log in to Web Connection as the administrator.
