This section describes the basic density adjustment processes that should be performed first.
The adjustment items may differ depending on the options mounted on the system.
- Set [Use Color Density Control] to [ON]
- Set [Periodical Adj. Execution] to [ON]
- Set [Adjustment Execution Timing] to [During Job Runs]
- Set [Adjustment Interval] to [ON]: 1,000 sheets
When the periodic adjustment is set, manual adjustment is not required; however, if you want to update the adjustment value according to the work conditions, perform [Color Density Manual Control]. For details, refer to section 4 in "Recommended Settings".
It is recommended to perform [Package Color Auto Adj.] at least once per day.
- Set [Quality] - [Auto Image Adjustment] to [Position/Gradation]
The Auto Image Adjustment function adjusts the image quality in real time during printing, thereby, resulting in improvement of image stability. For details, refer to To Perform Auto Image Adjustment.
Manual adjustment is recommended in the following cases.
- Density variation is noticeable for some reason
- Before mass printing
- Before printing when density gradation is important
- Set [Use Color Density Control] to [ON]
- Set [Periodical Adj. Execution] to [ON]
- Set [Adjustment Execution Timing] to [During Job Runs]
- Set [Adjustment Interval] to [ON]: 1,000 sheets
When the periodic adjustment is set, manual adjustment is not required; however, if you want to update the adjustment value according to the work conditions, perform [Color Density Manual Control]. For details, refer to section 2 in "Recommended Settings".
Manual adjustment is recommended in the following cases.
- Density variation is noticeable for some reason
- Before mass printing

- [Gamma Automatic Adjustment]
- [Max. Density Auto Adj.] (Perform using the same paper as when registering)
- [Color Density Control] (Perform using the specified paper)
Make the following adjustments once every 3 months for maintenance.
- [Gamma Automatic Adjustment]
- [Maximum Density Adjustment] (Perform using the specified paper)
