[Paper Measuring] Order

Overview

If printing paper is not set properly, it may cause a finishing error.

[Paper Measuring] measures target paper using the media sensor mounted on Intelligent Media Sensor IM-101 or this system even if the type or weight of the paper loaded in a paper tray is not known, thereby, enabling you to easily configure the appropriate paper setting.

[Paper Measuring] Order

The paper measurement order using Intelligent Media Sensor IM-101 is as follows.
  1. Select the paper tray to load in the [Paper Measuring] screen.
  2. Insert the paper to be loaded in the paper tray into Intelligent Media Sensor IM-101 and measure it.
  3. Apply the measurement result or the target paper profile to the paper tray.
The paper measurement order using the media sensor mounted on this system is as follows.
  1. Load paper into a paper tray.
  2. Select the paper tray loaded with paper on the [Paper Measuring] screen.
  3. Measure paper.
  4. Apply the measurement result or the target paper profile to the paper tray.
Tips
  • As for Intelligent Media Sensor IM-101, the measurement result can be applied to an unused paper tray even while a job is running.
  • A measurement result or paper profile that does not fit the selected paper tray is not able to be selected.
Tips

The following types of paper are judged by Intelligent Media Sensor IM-101 and the media sensor mounted on this system. For example, if colored paper is measured, it is judged to be fine paper.

  • Plain
  • Fine
  • Coated (Glossy paper)
  • Coated (Matte paper)

[Paper Measuring] items

Setting items

Description

[Paper Type & Weight]

Displays the paper measurement result.

Displays the [Paper Type] and [Weight(g/m2)] candidates.

Even if the type or weight of the paper loaded in a paper tray is not known, you can easily set the appropriate paper.

[User Profile]

Displays user profiles (paper profiles created by the user) that will become candidates based on the paper measurement result.

You can select a user profile to suit the conditions of the measured paper.

[Preset Profile]

Displays preset profiles (paper profiles registered by default) that will become candidates based on the paper measurement result.

You can select a preset profile to suit the conditions of the measured paper.
